2013 Odyssey Sub Committee Meeting Minutes

      • Meeting Opened: 7.30pm. Lorraine welcomed all in attendance to the Sub Committee’s first meeting.

Lorraine asked for volunteers to fill the executive positions:

General Business:

  • Identify maximum number of attendees who can be catered for to determine cut off for registrations.
  • Mark Seja and Peter Mahony to confirm 2013 as our Odyssey year at the Port Lincoln 2010 Odyssey.
  • Draft letter of intent to the “Parks Committee”, the “Nuriootpa Rover Football Club” and the “Nuriootpa Cricket Club”.
  • Site visit and tour Sunday August 8th:
    • Depart Munno Para, 10am. to Julian Terrace Gawler.
    • Depart Julian Terrace 10.15am to Nuriootpa Rover Football Club.

Next Meeting Tuesday October 26th, 7.30pm.



Post meeting Correspondence:

  • Daphne Pengilly.
    • Daphne forwarded the following suggestion:
      • “just a thought.  Rodney suggested for our group to meet earlier on the night of the next meeting to have some discussions.  As you realise we are at opposite ends of the earth and as we travel with the Sainsburys and Helen works to get there earlier is not really possible. he then said we will work something else out. however   I  was wondering   if the first hour or so of the next meeting in october could be set aside for the group huddles?  this will also allow those in more than one group to catch up and then the big meeting will have the ideas and thoughts very fresh in all our minds.”

    • We should seize the opportunity to discuss Daphne’s suggestion or alternatives during our Nuriootpa site visit on August 8th.

Hello all, I have attached a breakdown of the tasks that the Registration Sub Committee are required to perform for the 2013 Odyssey. At our next Sub Committee meeting we will be able to ascertain where our individual areas of expertise lie, and allocate tasks to which we are best suited for. If anyone can think of anything that I have not covered please let me know so that I can amend the task list.

Registration Sub Committee Tasks.

Liaise with Football /Sports centres to where Registration can be set up.

This can be done on our field trip.

Design Odyssey Patch , Metal Badge & Source Security Wrist Bands.

Samples of art work for Patch & Metal Badge for our next Registration Sub Committee meeting 26th Oct 2010.

The Patch design could possibly also be our Odyssey Logo. Perhaps we should be getting away from the traditional rectangular badge e.g Oval or round shape.
